2025 Verdelho

2025-Verdelho

The color is bright yellow with green hues. The wine opens with fresh aromas of Pippin apples and lemon drops followed by a bevy of citrus: grapefruit, lime, orange, and kiwi. With time and air in the glass, ripe fruit aromas evolve including pear, apricot, honeydew, and casaba melon. Tropical notes of guava, papaya, and mango also appear. The mid-palate is rich and full, from sur lie aging. The finish is crisp and lingering. One of the best Verdelhos we have ever produced.

Food Pairings: Our Verdelho enhances seafood such as scallops, prawns, and filet of sole. It also excels with niçoise salad, sliced fruits, and a variety of cheeses: both savory and creamy. This is a multi-faceted wine for all occasions.

The color is a deep garnet red with indigo hues. The aroma begins with a black fruit profile of fig and black cherry, followed by exotic spices, licorice, and cassis. The flavors are similar in addition to dark chocolate, damp forest floor and cloves. Hints of French oak are in the background. The texture on the mid palate is fully coating, rich, round, and silky which can be unusual for Charbono which is noted for its chewy, sometimes astringent tannins if harvested immature. The finish is long and elegant with fine grain tannins for extended aging.

2023 Rockpile Zinfandel

2023-Rockpile-Zinfandel

The color is garnet red with indigo hues. The wine opens with a red fruit profile of cherry and raspberry. Then quickly black fruit becomes apparent: blackberry & fig with brambles, black pepper, and cloves. These fruit profiles combine creating varietal typicity we call “Zinniness”. Flavors are in the black fruit camp: Asian spices, cinnamon, cassis, and licorice. The palate is rich, layered, and coating. There is some “chewiness” in the finish from the fine-grain tannins created by the vineyard’s elevation.

Food Pairings: Zinfandel classic pairings include grilled lamb, grilled beef and ribs though it goes beautifully with pastas, stews, and hearty cheeses too.

Production: 54 Cases
Blend: 95% Zinfandel, 5% Charbono
Cooperage: 100% French Oak, 21 months
Release: March 2026
