Vineyards:
Our 2025 Rosé is 100% Pinot Noir from diverse appellations: 82% Sonoma Coast, 7% Russian River, and 11% West Sonoma Coast. These microclimates vary and add to the diversity of aromas and flavors. Several clones are represented including Dijon 115, Pommard 5, Swan, Mt. Eden, and the newer French ENTAV 777 & 667 clones.

Vintage:
Fortunately, we had another almost “normal” growing season. The rainfall in Russian River was 35 inches, somewhat below normal. Spring weather was mild for flowering and the fruit set was good. Summer weather was also normal: warm but not overbearing with heat spikes. Harvest weather was mild with no inclement events. Almost a perfect year.

Fermentation & Aging:
The Rosé harvest this year was somewhat later than 2024, starting in late-September and finishing about October 20th. Sugars ranged from 22.9° Brix to 25.8° Brix and pH’s ranged from 3.1 to 3.7. Total acids were normal, ranging from 5.5 to 7.0 g/L. Skin contact averaged 4-8 hours, then the juice was drawn off using the saignée (bleeding) process. The yeasts used were M83, D47, ICV6RE, and RC212. Fermentation temperatures were cool: 50-60°F, lasting 2-3 weeks in stainless steel. Then, sur lie aging ensued for 60-90 days. The wine was bottled on March 4, 2026.
