This wine shows deep and concentrated aromas of blackberry, black currant and cassis, with a second layer of pepper, clove, and allspice. Flavors follow through with dark chocolate and spice, with slight nuances of oak. The color is dark garnet red with a distinct purple hue. The aromas have layers of blackberry, currants, cassis, and dry summer forest. The flavors are deep and concentrated, with black fruits, figs, nutmeg, and spice with oak nuances. The mid-palate is full, lush and round, displaying fine grain tannins. This wine reveals its youth and aging potential now, and will display more elegance with decanting or airing in the glass. Truly a vintage of the decade, this wine will age gracefully for years to come.
